Chocolate Madness

Some of you think it is chocolate goodness. You are mistaken. It is chocolate madness and it started on Sunday. We started with the chocolate caramels. Today, I spent about 5 1/2+ hours making orange and raspberry chocolates. They are not hard, but incredibly time consuming.

I start with this:

This is part of a 5 pound bag. I usually end up using around 15-20 pounds of chocolate.

I melt them down in my fondue pot (a great Christmas present from my parents one year. Thanks mom and dad :) The chocolate melts and looks like this:

Finally, I paint the chocolate on the molds, freeze them, fill them, top them off with chocolate, freeze them again, pop them out, and start all over again and again and again and again and again.... Now I ask you, does that sound like chocolate goodness or madness?

This is what the finished product looks like:

These are the orange filled ones, Keith's favorite.

Ok, this does look like chocolate goodness.

I hope that last picture is about half of the quantity that comes with you to Ohio!

It is all GOODNESS from my point of view. Lots of work, to be sure. But even when I think, "she is just too busy to do that this year", there they are! Wow.

What a great tradition to have as a family. Loved the Reindeer cookie project too. SO clever!

Hey, you were suppose to tell me when you were making them so I could get out of the house and help you :) They do look yummy though!

We will miss these this year. Tell those neighbors in my house that they are lucky and should thank us!
