Welcome back, Kata!

On Saturday, the kids participated in the annual Kata contest. Zack had not planned to participate this year. His friend asked him to be her partner on Thursday night. After only 1 practice, Zack did phenomenal. The scored in 2nd place for their division. We were so proud! It was amazing.

Nicole and her partner had been practicing for a couple of months during class. Their hard work showed. They did a fantastic job and were awarded 1st place in their division. To top it off, they were awarded statues for the overall high score for their division. (Zack and Nicole were in different divisions this year.)

Keith decided not to participate this year. He had been busy for the past 6 months preparing for his National Black Belt. He was in San Diego the previous weekend to take the National AJJF test for his black belt. As you can see by the picture, he was promoted to black belt and is now recognized in the AJJF as a black belt. All 3 of them have accomplished a lot!

Way to go...all three! I'll be on my best behavior when I see you all next time. Keith could kick my butt. But could Zack or Nicole too, frankly.

I think it's great that your kids are so talented! I wish I knew self defense. At you least you don't have to worry about bully's or boys! :)
