Friday after work, we drove down to St.George and stayed the night. The next day we drove to the dam. It was a pretty cool sight!
The dam was huge. In the above picture, you might be able to see some windows with slats on them. We took a tour, and we were able to go into the tunnels in the dam. That was a lot of fun.
It cracked Zack and I up as we tried to get a picture together, people kept trying to get in our picture.
This is where they let water through. These are huge pipes. You could totally feel the vibrations of all the water. (above)
This is the turbine room. You can see this building when you are looking down at the water at the bottom of the dam. These were huge turbines driven by the water. (below)
This is one of the tunnels that we were able to walk in. Most of the other tunnel pics are too blurry because there was not much light.
This was the window that we looked out of. It was a cool round tunnel instead of the nice tiled one like above.
Looking out the window.
Some cool statues outside.
And finally we had to leave.
But wait, Zack wants one more picture - we thought that Julie would appreciate all the pictures that we took.
This sure was a fun road trip. I wonder what we are going to do for next years fathers and sons!
