DC Trip

Right after school got out, we went on vacation to Washington DC. The kids had never been there before. Zack especially has a strong interest in history so we decided this was a good place for what will most likely be our last family vacation before Zack moves on and serves a mission. Here are some pictures from the trip.

We rode bikes at night, in the rain, to see the monuments lit up. they were beautiful. It started raining hard, so we made a mad dash to the Metro
We watched an international friendly game, Spain vs El Salvador. In this picture, the goalie makes a great save. Spain won this game.
Next we watched Fabi and Eddie Johnson of DC United play the Columbus Crew. Soccer double header--priceless :)

Visited Annapolis and the Naval Academy
This is a view from the Naval Academy. I would love that view every day.

Spy Museum--1st stop
FBI building-one of the more ugly DC buildings
National Archives-We saw the Declaration of Independence and Constitution. It was so awesome to see.
Washington Monument-2 hour wait to get tickets to enter so we didn't go inside.
Korean War Memorial-the statues look like ghosts.
View from the Lincoln Memorial
Caught up with our niece, Brooke, who was in DC on a school trip. I wish we could have taken her with us for a few hours. :)
