The Last Day

The past couple of days have been tough. Zack made the decision to serve a mission. We are supportive of his decision. Even though we are proud and know he is doing what is right, it doesn't ease the pain of having him leave. We love him and miss him already.

Tuesday night, Zack wanted steak for dinner. Keith grilled some steak and we make Zack's favorite Caesar salad. Then, he packed and spent time he could with his family.
Zack and Nicole watch "The Best 2 Years" together on his iTouch.
Gotta love how they share his headphones.
Packing up for the next 2 years. :(
Elder Fleming and family went to Kneaders for breakfast.

This morning, we had breakfast at Kneaders. Zack got his new suit and cry tie on and we took some pictures. When it was time, Zack drove to Provo. It may possibly be the last time he drives for 2 years since Taichung, Taiwan is a biking mission. We stopped at the temple and took some pictures. There were many other families doing the same thing with their missionaries. We gave hugs and said our goodbyes at the temple so theoretically it wouldn't be so bad at the MTC.

Wrong! The quick hug at the MTC was equally difficult. A kind missionary came and walked him to the building. It was hard to watch him walk away and know it will be 2 years before we see him and hug him again. He will be at the MTC for about 9 weeks. Since Mandarin is a more challenging language, they stay longer. His projected departure date is March 12th.
