The End of an Era

Nicole attended her last Lehi High Swim Team Banquet and awards program. It was bittersweet for her. She and the majority of the swim team were recognized for their academic achievement on both the high school and regional levels. She was able to letter in this sport again. All seniors receive a cool wooden box with their name on it as well. Then came the most unexpected award of the night. The coach chose a few swimmers to receive the "Tough as Nails" award. As Coach started to describe the character traits for this specific award, I knew it was Nicole. He talked about a swimmer who would persevere, even through injuries and other obstacles, to work hard and still improve. He certainly hit her dedication to swimming and doing whatever she could to work out and improve. It was awesome for her to get recognized by others for her amazing qualities.
