New Project - Stairs

I have started a new project. I wanted to get rid of the carpet on the stairs in our house and put in wood. It took a while to figure out what I would need and how to get it to work, but I finally bit the bullet and started. Here are pictures of how it has gone.

Here are the torn out stairs. It sure was interesting getting up and down. It was also amazing how much everyone wanted me to get them fixed so they could do stuff like play on the XBox and do laundry.

Staining is easy but finding the room is hard.

Zack was enlisted to help. Even though he was not always happy to help, he did make a difference on how fast we were able to get ready for the new stairs.

Starting to install

Here are the stairs now, almost finished.

I have drilled holes and screwed the boards in. We can walk on them now but I still need to get plugs for the holes and put polyurathane down. Then it will be done. Easy part...now I just need to buy a drill press so I can make the plugs :)

I read most of this post thinking Julie wrote it. I was EXTREMELY impressed. I'm still REALLY impressed that it was Keith (and Zach)redoing the stairs but admittedly not quite as impressed. I mean, think about it.
