Ohio Trip

Nicole and I left for Ohio the day after school got out. We arrived there late Saturday night. I left with a sinus infection that ended up raging while I was there. Thankfully, I had visited the doctor the day before and started taking an antibiotic. After a blessing from Daryl and Glenn plus good medicine, the sinus infection miraculously subsided on its own. I have a history of my body not being able to rid itself of sinus infections, so this was truly a miracle.

We flew over the Grand Canyon on our way to Cleveland. Awesome view.
The fam gets together for Becca and Grandma's birthday celebration.
Kids playing Ticket to Ride. Keith was sad he wasn't there to play.
Nicole and I took Grandma and Grandpa to lunch on Tuesday for her birthday and his Father's Day gift. We went to Joe's Deli. The sandwiches are ginormous! I had to take a lot of the meat off so I could bite into it. I could only eat half. I saved the other half for the next day. There was still extra corned beef to make another sandwich by the time I was done.
How do you bite into that???
Nicole's sandwich. She put hers in a pita so it was more manageable. She still could only finish half.
The deer had eaten the bark off Grandma's tree, so it died. She decided she wanted to plant some new deer resistant bushes, but we had to get the stump out. The 3 of us chopped, dug, cut, and chopped until it was out. There were a lot of roots going many different directions.
After liberating the stump, we decided it was a perfect day to go to the beach. It was the only day that wasn't predicted to have rain and it was in the low 70s. Well, the wind was blowing hard and strong off the lake. I felt like I was home in Lehi :). The wind was really cold. Becca was done with school, so she came with us. She and Nicole didn't care that it was cold, the water temperature was in the 50s, and the water was gross. They only wanted to build on the sand. There was a red alert warning since there had been big storms. It had churned up a lot of debris and garbage. You can see the yucky stuff in the pictures.
You can see the Cleveland skyline in the background, but the water looks so brown and yucky.
The water splashing on the rock looks filthy. It is all the yucky debris churning.
Grandpa came and was all bundled up. He still got cold and went in the car. The wind was cold and fierce.
The girls get to work.
Freedonia 2.0

After dinner, we went to watch Andrew's baseball game. We saw him bat once and he played right field for a couple innings.
Interesting how the girls are "watching" the game facing the opposite direction of the field. Haha
Right fielder, Andrew
Ay, batter batter...
Swing, batter
My new Cavs shirt :)
I was excited to be in Cleveland for Game 1 of the NBA Finals. I got my Cavs shirt so I could be a true fan. We had pizza and Daryl's wings for our pre-game dinner. Yummm!! Then we went and got Mitchell's ice cream. Delicious!
Daryl's famous wings....YUMMMMMMM

This is how the girls watched Game 1 of the NBA Finals. What?!?
Nicole takes a ride in Grandpa's wheelchair
I was able to do some family history with Grandma and found quite a few cousins. I didn't even finish adding them all to the family tree. It was very cool to see all the family added.
The girls say goodbye.
On Friday, we packed and played a bunch of games until we left for the airport in the afternoon. We go home late and crashed.
