The day we had been dreading all summer finally happened on Saturday, August 27th. We took the drive up to Logan to get Nicole to Utah State, her new/temporary home. We stopped at the grocery store to get her stocked up and then helped her unload the rest of her stuff. (Keith and Daryl had taken a trip and a load of her stuff up on Thursday, then came home.) She got some stuff put away and we took a walk around campus with her to find her classes.
It was a melancholy day with a layer of sadness over it. We were all strong until it was time to hug and say goodbye. It was hard to drive away, but we know she will do well and have a great time.
