Not for the Faint of Heart

Around lunchtime on Friday, I received a message from Zack's school that he was not feeling well and to call them. That was all the information I had. I tried to call back twice and received voice mail. I just drove right down instead of trying to reach them again. I arrived to find him laying on a cot under a blanket. The secretary commented that his color was better. I rushed right past her to assess the illness.

Zack told me he almost passed out in Health class. Do you know what types of things are discussed in Health class? Body parts, blood, and the topic that day was the heart. Not just discussing it, but going in depth about the blood pumping in and out. If you know Zack then you know he does not cope well with talk about anything medical. He started to feel weak, queasy, sweaty, and dizzy. He said everything started to look blurry. He told his teacher who called the office. He rode to the office in a wheelchair. His teacher kindly came to check on him. She told him in the future, he could sit in the hall during those discussions. We are all grateful.

He decided to come home because he still felt weak and shaky. He was really sad because that ruins his 100% attendance record for the year.

He has fully recovered and was able to go skiing the following day.

How sad! He even skipped skiing for school, and then had to come home anyway :( Glad he's feeling better. Hope skiing was fun, and your lesson went well.
