The MiraCLE

Although I haven't lived in the Cleveland area for over 20 years, I still have the diehard commitment and fierce loyalty to their teams.

Like millions of other people, I watched Game 7 Sunday night. I watched it with a guarded optimism and was very hopeful. ALWAYS hopeful. I just kept thinking how cool it would be to win the championship and make history by being the first team to win a championship after being down 3-1. However, I had to be guarded. We had come close before and the other shoe just might drop again. At times, I had to change the channel or stop focusing on the game because I would get so excited, anxious, nervous, and it was so intense I couldn't stand it. I actually made peanut butter cookies for Father's Day dessert during the 1st half so I could split my focus and not get so emotionally wound up.

As the 4th quarter came to an end, I almost felt like I was holding my breath. It was within their reach. LeBron made the block of his life and Kyrie made the shot of his career. Almost there....I was watching, but didn't realize the game had ended until Keith said "It's over." At the same time, I saw players and coaches start to race onto the floor. I couldn't believe it! They WON!!! I was screaming and jumping. WOW! It was such an awesome feeling! I was ecstatic for the team and for every Cleveland fan who was doing the same thing. I jumped on Keith. Then, I watched the team celebrate. I watched their pure, genuine emotion and it made me cry. Tears of joy. LeBron fulfilled his promise to bring a championship to Cleveland and Northeast Ohio. I love that he had such emotion then said, "And ...CLEVELAND! This is for you!" This is a moment I will remember for the rest of my life.

I think I had a better Father's Day than Keith  :).
