Donut Falls

To escape the inversion and have some fun together, we decided to go snow shoeing. We have gone up into American Fork Canyon a few times and wanted to try a different location and trail. Donut Falls was the destination. If you have not been there, we highly recommend this trail. ;)

The start of the trail is basically a paved road, snowshoes not needed. Then, there is the trail head that takes you up, into the trees, and to the falls. We went through the woods and over a river to get to the final destination. Going up is always the hard part.

These pictures are from the base of the falls. The top one is a picture of the water and snow coming down. The bottom picture is looking down from where we just came. It was gorgeous and well worth the hike. We hiked up to the top as far as we could safely go. Through the snow and ice, we were able to see some of the falls.

Going down from the top of the falls was easiest done sliding down on your rear end. Zack went up and down multiple times.
Going down the trail was quick, easy, and painless. The kids got tired of their snowshoes and put them on their hands. We got out of the house, got exercise, had fun, and it was free!
