Every year, my kids make gingerbread houses. Sometimes, I buy the kits at the store and sometimes grandma is around. Grandma makes the royal icing, buys lots of candy and they build their creations out of graham crackers. This year was a graham cracker and royal icing year. The kids had a great time creating.
Tyler put a ton of gummy bears in his house.
Zack created a military base with green gingerbread army men.
Nicole spent a lot of time trying to create animals using the candy and marshmallows.
Becca put gummy bears on the roof and was very creative making a marshmallow nativity.
Grandma was gone during the building of the houses and arrived home later that night. She noticed a stinky smell. While the kids were proudly showing off their houses, she was sniffing them. Turns out the graham crackers were stinky. The smell permeated from the dining room into the kitchen and living room. We put the houses in bags to contain the smell. You can ask Tyler if he enjoyed the graham cracker he sampled ;)

Your houses look great! We love making gingerbread houses too! My brother made a cool one with lights in it this year. You can see it on my blog.
