Foot Tour of San Francisco

The day after the game, we did our San Francisco tour. We have all been there before, but not together as a family. I have never been to Coit Tower or Chinatown. We walked from our hotel through Chinatown and stopped in some shops along the way.

Next, we headed to Coit Tower. Sadly, the view wasn't as great as we hoped with the fog that day. The stairs and elevator to the top of the tower were both closed so we could not go up. It was still amazing up there.

After that, we headed down to Pier 39. We got a late lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe and walked along the pier seeing the sea lions, Alcatraz, and a magic show. Keith was thrilled because he found a Duke sweatshirt on sale at a sports store. He has been looking for a new one for a while. (Duke basketball is currently #1 in the country you know and he is a long time fan.) We finished with Pier 39 and headed to Fisherman's Wharf.
A trip to San Francisco is not complete without a stop at Ghiradelli Square. That was the final stop on our foot journey through the city. Zack and I had delicious hot chocolate while Keith and Nicole had ice cream. We bought some chocolate for a treat later. When we were blissfully filled with chocolate goodness, we rode on a cable car back to our hotel. I had never been on one before. It was very cool.
For the kids, the day is not complete without a swim in the pool and some time in the hot tub. This was a nightly ritual.
The morning of our way out of town, we drove over to the Golden Gate bridge via Nob Hill. The kids had not been to the bridge before. We walked half way across and headed for Vegas--our last stop before we went home.
